The Fokker Dr. coloring have been updated to match its historic model which has a orange-reddish hue due to the constant exposure to the sun. This Postage Stamp model is as as close to the historic version as possible. The Fokker Dr. I served in the German Air Force (Luftstreitkrafte) during the 1st World War. This tri-plane gave the German Air Force an airplane with great maneuverability and a high rate of climb. The Fokker Dr. I was flown by German fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen, best known as the "Red Baron". The plane had a 110-hp cylinder rotary engine, with a max speed of 115 mph and carried two Spandau MG 08 7. 92-mm synchronized machine guns.
